In an excerpt from Lara Briden’s Book, Period Repair Manual she writes about ovulation test strips. These strips detect a surge in LH (luteinising hormone) or ‘peak’ LH in your urine. These test strips are used (begin testing) from approximately day 8 of your cycle. When an LH surge has been detected, it usually means ovulation will occur within 36 to 4o hours. However, “LH testing can miss up to 20% of LH peaks” (Briden, 2018, p.47)
