Natural Fertility (Using Sympto-thermal method)
NFNZ Educators provide education on Fertility Awareness and Natural Family Planning to individuals, couples, medical professionals and also offer community education. Once taught the Sympto-thermal method (STM method), you are able to use it as a very effective way to either help assist in achieving a pregnancy or to avoid conception.
I am an accredited Natural Fertility Educator (Diploma in Reproductive Health and Fertility) having completed my training/study through Natural Fertility NZ and have recently been appointed to join NFNZ organisation as course facilitator.
I have completed advanced practice (Diploma) with NFNZ, completing further education in menopausal transition and fertility, teaching peri-menopausal clients, fertility while breastfeeding & teaching breastfeeding clients. I look forward to being able to extend this knowledge to my new and existing clients!
Get an in-depth insight into how your body works, learn your fertile signs, gain confidence in understanding your unique cycle, when the best time is to try to conceive or avoid conception based on what you are taught, put into practice and make part of your everyday lives. A total of 3 visits is required to learn and benefit from lifelong skills regarding your fertility. You will be fully supported throughout the entire learning process and this support will continue for the duration of 12 months.

To Support in ‘Achieving Pregnancy’ consultations:
Over 3x consultations you are taught: What your signs of fertility are, how to recognise your signs of fertility, chart your signs of fertility and learn to apply the Sympto-thermal method, to give you the best chance to help achieve a pregnancy. Lifestyle and nutrition is also discussed. Understanding your fertility is also an excellent skill to have to gain a good understanding of your reproductive system and recognise any changes within your body.

In an excerpt from Lara Briden’s Book, Period Repair Manual she writes about ovulation test strips. These strips detect a surge in LH (luteinising hormone) or ‘peak’ LH in your urine. These test strips are used (begin testing) from approximately day 8 of your cycle. When an LH surge has been detected, it usually means ovulation will occur within 36 to 4o hours. However, “LH testing can miss up to 20% of LH peaks” (Briden, 2018, p.47)
Learning and applying the Sympto-thermal method gives you the reassurance of understanding the 3 signs of fertility: cervical mucus, basal body temperature and changes of the cervix throughout your cycle.

After our third appointment, a fourth can be included if necessary (at a charge of $30.00) and once you have learnt to chart your fertility, I stay in touch with you for 12 months for chart checking and any queries you may have. Referrals can be made to your GP or Specialist.

Avoiding conception consultations:
Over 3x consultations you are taught: What your signs of fertility are, how to recognise your signs of fertility, chart your signs of fertility and learn to apply the Sympto-Thermal method, so that you are able to avoid conception.
Learning the Sympto-thermal method is a great option for those who are unable to tolerate hormonal birth control, IUD’s, hormonal implant options, or for those who require an effective method of birth control for religious reasons. It is a skill that once learnt and applied correctly, can be used for the entirety of your fertile life. Understanding your fertility is also an excellent skill to have to gain a good understanding of your reproductive system and recognise any changes within your body.
